Biomimicry is an innovation process encouraging the transfer of ideas, concepts and strategies inspired from the living world, with the
objective of designing human applications which are compatible with the biosphere's mode of functioning. It is therefore a sustainability tool that fosters trans-disciplinarity to tackle environmental challenges in a systematic way.

The European Biomimicry Alliance is a trans-national network of European experts in the field of sustainable innovation through biomimicry. Contributors to the alliance are mostly certified Biomimicry professionals, specialists and other experts in the field of bionics and biomimetics with diverse professional backgrounds. EBA members jointly work on outreach, education, facilitation and innovation using biomimicry and take advantage of the multi-disciplinarity and multi-level experience within the alliance.
